What is The Shelf Concert?

Imagine live music so personal, it feels like you’re in the artist’s living room. The Shelf Concert by Hestia is an intimate, studio-style performance where musicians play just a few feet away—under our iconic big shelf, in a cozy, living-room-like space.

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we embrace the same raw, stripped-down energy while making it our own. Artists from all genres—indie, jazz, folk, rock, R&B, hip hop and beyond—reworking their music to fit this unique setting. Unlike typical live houses or concerts, there are no speakers blasting the room—you hear the artist’s voice directly straight from the lungs. There are no in-ear monitors, no artificial mixing—artists must self-mix as they perform and adjust their sound naturally in the moment. And because it’s a live recording session, the audience isn’t just watching—they’re part of the final cut, with every cheer, clap, and moment of silence captured forever.

Every session is one-of-a-kind, shaped by the artist, the space, and the people in the room.

No big crowds. No distractions. No do-overs. Just pure music—recorded live, with you in the room, enjoying the moment however you like with a good drink and food in hand.

Limited spots. Be there, or hear about it later.

The Setup & Experience

  • This is where the concert and recording take place.

  • A ticket grants you access to this space, plus an appetizer and a drink.

  • Guests in the Live Zone are part of the studio-style experience, where the artist’s raw sound is captured in a live recording.

  • The concert is structured into multiple sets, each consisting of three songs, with a 10-minute break between sets.

  • During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise—think of it like being in a live recording session. Natural audience reactions like clapping, cheering, and vibing are encouraged!

  • Breaks are off the record, so it's the perfect time to chat freely, grab another drink, order food, or take a washroom break.

  • Each show will have at least three sets, but some artists may perform more if they’re feeling the energy. If you want to hear more, show your love—good vibes and support go a long way!

  • Seating and standing arrangements may vary depending on the event.

  • This is the dining and socializing area, where guests can enjoy their meals and conversations at a comfortable volume.

  • No ticket is required—regular dining reservations apply.

  • Guests in the Off Zone won’t be part of the live recording but can still enjoy the concert as background music.

  • Unlike typical live houses, where loud music overpowers the space, the Off Zone provides a balanced experience—dine, chat, and enjoy the music at your own pace.

  • However, guests in the Off Zone will not be able to see the live performance and won’t experience the concert as fully as those in the Live Zone.
